Given the glorious spring sunshine this morning, I decided it was time to dust off my camera and take a few snapshots.
The feeders in the garden have been proving very popular with our local birdlife and can often be seen teaming with blue tits, coal tits, sparrows, robins and green finches. We seem to have adopted several blackbirds, wood pigeon and a song thrush. This morning it was only blue tits and sparrows using the feeders, but I decided to take a couple of shots of them from the window.
Initially optimistic that the weather was going to stay good I decided to head off to Alnmouth Station and catch the train, although I wasn't entirely sure where I was going to end up. I have been meaning to visit the National Railway Museum in York, but as it was already noon I decided it would be a poor use of time to make the 100 mile journey. After a few moments pondering I decided that it might be worth a trip back up the Tyne Valley Line to Hexham, pausing for a sandwich and pint at Wylam as I had done previously.
